Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
EEOC was created in the historic Civil Rights Act of 1964. This Act was an omnibus bill addressing not only discrimination in employment, but also discrimination in voting, public accommodations, and education as well. EEOC's mission is to "…promote equality of opportunity in the workplace and enforce Federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination." It is guided by their vision of "A strong and prosperous nation secured through a fair and inclusive workplace."
Any individual who believes that his or her employment rights have been violated may file a charge of discrimination with EEOC.
