Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action

The Equity and Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Office (EEO) is committed to assisting the University in providing a work environment that is free of bias, discrimination, and harassment and in which all students, staff, and faculty may thrive. Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation are explicitly prohibited by University policy.

The EEO Office is also responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the University's Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) in accordance with state and federal regulations. These reports allow the University to assess the equitability and effectiveness of its employee recruitment and retention efforts. EEO conducts an annual analysis of each job group and administrative unit at the University to identify successful practices as well as areas for improvement in our employment of underrepresented groups at UC Santa Cruz.

The University's Affirmative Action Plan is accessible, pursuant to applicable law, by contacting the EEO/AA Office. Questions related to EEO functions can also be addressed directly to the EEO/AA Office: equity@ucsc.edu.
